Malware to blame in supermarket data breach

It turns out malware somehow found its way onto a Maine-based supermarket chain’s servers, which led to the security breach announced earlier this month compromising up to 4.2 million credit cards.

Update to Vista SP1 updates

There appears to be some driver issues involved for those with Windows Vista machines or Notebooks. Microsoft has chosen a list of “problematic” drivers which means that consumers with hardware using these drivers will NOT get the Vista SP1 update on their Windows upate list. Mainly these are users that have machines that were upgraded to Vista from XP or some Dell, Gateway, and Sony machines using 3rd party hardware like sound cards (Sigma Tel mainly). There appears to be no correction for this at this time.

Microsoft has released Vista Service Pack 1. However you may not want to install this update right away. Several bugs have been reported as well as operational issuesd with some third party programs. For a list of those programs, click here.
